1901- Guglielmo Marconi received the first transatlantic radio transmission.
1930 - Baseball changes rule, ball bounces into stands not a HR, now a double
1963- Kenya gained its independence from Britain.
1965 - Gale Sayers of Chicago Bears scores 6 TDs, ties NFL record
1968- Arthur Ashe becomes 1st black player to be ranked #1 in Tennis
1995 - NBA referees return to work after striking. And yet they still cant call a travel.
2000- A divided U.S. Supreme Court halted the presidential recount in Florida, effectively making Republican George W. Bush the winner.
